The Work Happiness Project is about finding a career or building a business that you love. It’s about creating the ideal life for you.
Here you will learn how to find a career or build a business that fits you and your preferred lifestyle. You will learn how to make money and manage that money so you can enjoy your preferred lifestyle and maintain that lifestyle when you are ready to retire.
What it’s not – a gimmick that promises you wealth and riches in a short amount of time. It is a whole life approach that starts with finding the right career and ends with financial management.
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Jennifer, and I’m so happy you’re here.
I’d like to share a bit about my personal story that prompted me to help others find their purpose, start new careers, and build businesses.
I’m a mid-career professional with 20 years of experience working in a variety of roles, mostly in the defense industry, such as aircraft maintenance, administration, security, and program management.
After 20 years of working, I decided to resign from my job. (You can read the full story here.) There were two reasons for this decision. First, I wanted more time with my son. Second, I had been working in positions for the past 20 years that did not suit me as a person. I have spent most of my working life unhappy and unfulfilled. I wanted to find a career with purpose. One that gave me a sense of fulfillment and joy.
As I searched for my own work happiness, I realized that even though my roles at work have been different, there was one activity that I always engaged in – helping and supporting others in the achievement of their goals and dreams.
This is just something I do naturally. I listen to others and encourage them to follow their dreams. Also, I pass along information to help them on their journey.
This led to the creation of the Work Happiness Project website.
Here you will find inspiration to find a career or business that suits your needs as a person. Whether this means finding a new career, learning how to craft your current career to suit you, or starting a business.
Here you will also find advice and encouragement to forge a new path. Maybe start that business you always thought about or find a more flexible career that allows you to spend more time with your family.
The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know it when you find it. – Steve Jobs
